Schools or Groups:

If you're interested in getting your kids involved in service, our YES staff are able to customize a service project or program for you, whether you are a school, youth group, or community group. Our customized model allows us to design a project based on your specific needs and interests and comes in several forms:

Sample Customized Programming Partnerships:

  • Days of Service Planning a day to impact the community through service

  • Leadership & Service Workshops - Teaching youth the value of service through hands-on activities

  • Leadership and Service Learning Curriculum and Support -  Designing service-learning curriculum to be implemented at your school or group

  • Events, Fairs, or Guest Speakers

Individuals:

If you are a youth looking to volunteer or are a parent who wants their kids to be involved in service, our Volunteer Opportunity Calendar is the best way to do so.

To find volunteer opportunities through our calendar or volunteer opportunity search engine, go to this link: http://www.pittsburghcares.org/HOC__Volunteer_Opportunity_Search_Page  Once there, scroll down until you see "Appropriate For" on the left side of the page.  You can search by age to find opportunities that would be appropriate for your girls.

Prior to signing them up for any volunteer opportunities, you will need to register them as Pittsburgh Cares volunteers.  You can do so, by completing a profile for them here: http://www.pittsburghcares.org/HOC__cmscontent?CMSId=a0VA0000002i7wyMAA

Then printing, filling out, and sending in the waiver which is downloadable from that same link.

If you are interested in customized programming our have any other questions about our YES programs, please contact our Senior Youth Programs Manager, Chris Lehberger, at clehberger@pittsburghcares.org.
