SERVICE LEARNING PROJECTS

Pittsburgh Cares offers teachers in grades K-12 a training workshop and follow up consultations on how to incorporate service learning into both state standards and classroom lesson plans. The training awards Act 48 credits in partnership with Communities in Schools and provides teachers with a toolkit and CD featuring classroom activities that can be customized to any subject.

Also coming soon in July 2008, Pittsburgh Cares will feature a database of service learning projects and lesson plans to aid K-12 teachers throughout the region in planning their own service learning activities.
