YOUTH & FAMILIES

Youth Volunteering at Pittsburgh Cares

Youth are our future! It’s our aim to encourage young people through volunteerism, leadership development, and civic engagement so that they become involved, well-rounded citizens contributing to our communities in their futures.

Pittsburgh Cares’ Youth & Families programming works with youth ages Pre-K to 12th grade from not only Pittsburgh, but all over Southwestern Pennsylvania. As we emerge out of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will be offering a greater amount of programming in this space. Stay tuned and check back often! We also recommend subscribing to our social media @PittsburghCares & our newsletter to stay the most up to date. Have an idea or question? Email us at info@pittsburghcares.org

Pittsburgh Cares’ Youth Action Council (YAC) is a leadership development and volunteer program composed of a group of high school youth that are committed to creating positive social change in their schools and community. YAC members serve as youth ambassadors, acting as the voice for youth in the community and inspiring others to do the same.

Through YAC, students learn about local and global social issues and are charged with exploring ways to address these problems. Members also gain practical skills for their futures such as teamwork, project development, and time management. Not to mention make new like-minded friends from new schools and neighborhoods!

Join our squad! We are now accepting YAC applications for our 2022-23 school year!
